Zuzi and Veronka, members of the Beadingschool Creative Team (a.k.a. Unicorns) spent several days in Amsterdam, visiting me (Erika). It was a precious time, as normally we see each other only through our cameras. this way, not only could I invite the ladies to my favourite cafe, show them some of my beloved places in my adopted home, but we could also understand better how each one of us thinks and works. And of course, we could also spend some time while finally beading together in real life! While staying in the Dutch capital, Zuzi created a Netherlands-inspired new motif, and Veronka finished an exquisite body-ornament she was dreaming about for quite some time.
2 tutorials as a gift – how to get them?
It has been about a month since we started to work with the new Thetis’s Treasure Beadingschool Academy Box. Beaders in the Beadingschool Club were saying that the Box feels bottomless – there were already 7 designs that we beaded, and even more are coming, some of them still surprises. Besides the two signature jewels there are many more that you can bead. Earrings, bracelets, pendants, or statement necklaces made from different motifs are emerging one after another from fellow creatives!
For now, we have to keep those two new designs secret (otherwise you might get too distracted :D), but there are two new tutorials that are very close to their release date: Maera by Zuzi Hake, and Amphitrite by Ruxandra Puscas. Both named after sea nymphs from the Greek mythology. These two tutorials are not included in the Academy memberships, however, they can be yours as a gift – make sure to read further!
Maera by Zuzi is a motif that can be adopted as a pendant, component or single focal for a bracelet, but in my opinion looks the best as earrings. The light, airy design is achieved by joining two types of bicone beads to the 6 mm Preciosa sew-on rhinestone in the middle. There are 4 mm Preciosa bicones in the new Caribbean Sea colour, and in between 6 mm pressed glass beads in a very similar shape.
Ruxandra’s Amphitrite was born-to-be a pendant. Its unusual shape reminds me of crowns worn my gods and goddesses of the sea worn in cartoons. Spiky yet elegant, and always full of sparkle and pearls!
I love that Ruxi doesn’t shy away from unusual solutions, connections made from lacy elements, three pearl drops turned into an eye-catching element of the pendant, instead of simply hanging them at the bottom. The 16 mm Preciosa rivoli shines in the middle (no matter if you use the Bermuda Blue from the Box or a lighter one like Ruxandra did), but still, it’s not overpowering the additional details that also deserve our attention.
While we were enjoying Amsterdam and cooking up new designs (still some from the Thetis Box), the Beadingschool Treasury was hard at work! (Don’t worry, the Team is looking forward to a well-deserved Beadingschool Summer Day on the beach with barbecue already next week :))
They were preparing for you a bunch of new goodies for the Bead Shop: focusing on shapes and components that were included in the latest Theme Box, and making them available to you in more colours. As we noticed that you got pretty fond of Bead Bundles, many of them will be available as bundles, too! My favourites are the Lacy Tear beads, but we bring you pressed glass bicones, Toho threads to create fringes, and even lots of new metal components, too!
How can the 2 new tutorials be yours as a gift?
Both of them 🙂
1. Place an order for at least 50 euros between 5pm CET 9. August and 5pm CET 16. August ’22 at Beadingschool.com => and you’ll receive Ruxandra’s Amphitrite tutorial as a gift.
OR
2. Place an order for at least 70 euros in the same time frame => and you’ll receive both Zuzi’s Maera and Ruxi’s Amphitrite.
3. It doesn’t matter if the order is for beads, tutorials, or for a Beadingschool Academy membership.
3. It needs to be one order, not the sum of different orders, and the final price when you check out has to be min. 50 or 70 euros (after applying any coupon codes that you might have, but can include shipping).
4. I will send the tutorial next week Wednesday to everyone at the same time!
BTW, metal components are 15% off at the same time, so it’s a douple-special deal 🙂
