One of the very important missions of Beadingschool by Erika Sándor is connecting beaders and creating a community. Yes, there is also a bead shop – the source of high-quality, inspiring material for us! We don’t need to go too far as we have everything by hand and let’s be honest – it’s pure joy to shop at Beadingschool. Providing the service and personal touch, we receive a wonderful box fully packed with beads and essential components. The feeling of receiving it as a present remains as we open the box every – single – time. Unless we have a specific project we related to our order, we may end up with the thought – Ok, and now what? 😉
There are more options besides looking back at Erika’s tutorials in the webshop. We have inspirational resources as:
- The Beadingschool Club – This private Facebook group is a virtual bead-haven to many of us. Erika created and manage the group herself and she’s present there almost daily. Club members share photos of Erika’s designs they beaded, they comment on, admire each other’s work. It is full of everyday kindness – a safe space to be and bead with other like-minded people. If there’s a special deal or announcement by Erika, Club members know between the first. Everyone with a Facebook account, who purchased something from Erika’s webshop has a ticket to the club!
- Beadingschool YouTube channel – Erika’s channel is the main resource if you look for #NoOneHasToBeadAlone designs or want to learn about bead embroidery. Erika publishes videos every week – her weekly broadcast of #CoffeeTimeWithErika and #NoOneHasToBeadAlone.
- Other YouTube channels – There are many interesting, creative beaders who started to work with special Beadingschool boxes and material this year. Each of them has a unique style that reflects into their finished jewelry. They bring even more inspiration to all of you!
Creative power on the internet
Thanks to these ladies we can see how does the content of Erika’s special boxes looks like. Since they all love to create and to bead, they share their ideas and designs, using material by Beadingschool. Are you ready to meet them?
Gina Maddox – ORCHID and OPAL Jewelry & Beads
Hello, fellow bead enthusiasts! My name is Gina, and I am the creator behind ORCHID and OPAL. I’ve had a needle and thread in hand since I was four years old, crafting next to my mother, a seamstress by trade, with a plastic knitting needle and yarn. Incorporating beads into my needlework soon followed as my next crafting obsession, naturally! Beading is my hobby, my therapy, and now it is my full-time job! ORCHID and OPAL is the business name I chose in 2018, pretty much on the spot. The name
merges two of my favorite things, orchid plants, and opal stones. Nature, geometry, and unique color palettes are some of my main inspirations in design. With so much design and beauty in nature, and even in the man-made materials around us, there is usually an interesting pattern, or nuances in colors and shadows to observe. Also, unexpected bead box contents have been the springboard for most of my original designs, and a catalyst for some very effective experimentation. I guess you could say, bead boxes help me “think outside of the box!”
I am excited about continued collaborations with the BeadingSchool team and student body. Finding others who share the same level of passion about beading, and who are so kind and encouraging, has been truly rewarding. The future holds many more bead-related adventures, and I am certainly along for the journey!
Luisa Schanuel – Misty Moon Designs
I’m Luisa Schanuel, owner and founder of Misty Moon Designs, an artistic jewelry company. I’m also the inventor of The Coil Buddy and Magic Rods which is a product that helps in the design of memory wire bracelets. My journey as an artist began when I was very young. Inspired by my artist uncle, I began my career with watercolors and still life paintings. I later founded artistic murals and decorative wall finishes company where I created Trompe L’Oeil murals, gold leafing, specialized glazes, and plaster effects, among many other works. My extensive experience in the arts helped me cultivate a discerning eye for color balance and design. The journey as an artist continued throughout my lifetime, eventually evolving into the world of artisan jewelry. My designs reflect my love of nature as well as my love of crystals and natural stone beads. Hiking on trails, dancing, tending to my pets, and enjoying my garden are some of the most influential elements in my artistic life and journey. I draw my energy and inspiration from music, being in nature, and seeing how plants and wildlife interact. Nature’s seasons and the uniqueness of colors and shapes are what inspires and nurtures my soul, artistic skills, and love of jewelry design.
Wendy Whitman – A Bead On A Wire Jewelry
Hello, I’m Wendy Whitman from A Bead On A Wire Jewelry. I have been beading for about 10 years. Along with bead stringing and a little bead weaving, I like to use resin and polymer clay mediums. I have a Youtube channel where I teach tutorials and show subscription boxes and product reviews. I live in North Carolina with my husband Chris and our cat and dog, Sadie – who makes appearances on many of my videos, and Sebastian. My inspiration comes from nature and love to spend time on the beach picking up shells to use in my jewelry. I also spend a great amount of time in our outdoor gazebo making jewelry and enjoying the outdoors.
You can watch also the video with Wendy as a guest, where Erika was teaching First Peyote Bezel!
Aleshia Germain – Beadifulnights
Hi, my name is Aleshia Germain, but I am mostly known by Beadifulnights on YouTube. I started to get into beading when I was seven years old. I wanted to do more than stringing beads so I went online to learn beading stitches in my teenage years. Later I started figuring how to create my own designs as I found very little information or people, who were teaching how to create bead-woven jewelry at that time.
I was 22 years old in 2011 and decided to start my own YouTube channel and teach in a way that everybody can learn how to make beaded jewelry. This month marks my 10 year anniversary on YouTube, with over 600 videos of beading tutorials, bead hauls, bead organization, beaded accessories, DIY tools, and more. I love stitching with seed beads and other popular shapes like bicones and rounds my most favorite beads to work with are Czech beads, I get so inspired by them. When I find new Czech treasures I feel as if I unearthed some new unseen fossil! Erika found me earlier this year and I was so excited to meet someone who shares the same enormous passion for beading. I started creating with supplies from Erika’s Beadingschool store.
Erika’s Beadingschool Academy – Magic Garden box inspired me to create the most incredible bracelet I have made to date. Art Nouveau Beaded Bracelet!
Zuzi Hake – Beadingschool Team
Hello everyone, my name is Zuzana Hake, but you most probably know me as Zuzi. I come from Slovakia and I cover all my creations under Zuzi Hake Jewelry. I used to work full-time in IT company, occasionally selling finished jewelry on design markets. As we have a small, young family, I needed fewer working hours and more flexibility. This brought me to the Beadingschool Team. I’m supporting Erika, sharing ideas, technical solutions, and finished jewelry as an inspiration in the Beadingschool Club .
My journey started very soon, similar to other ladies who already made their introductions. With neverending support from my family, I got from all kinds of small crafts, from photography, to bead weaving at a certain point. I met Erika in her first bead shop in Slovakia when I was looking for high-quality beads and crystals – she always knew what’s the best for beaders. That was more than 10 years ago. I’ve learned from her ever since and I’m still improving my skills and gaining new ones. I love bead embroidery and moving Erika’s original design to a new level through using different components. Sharing creative ideas makes me happy, as I have my time limitations. This is the way everyone can enjoy creating beautiful jewelry. The main resource of my inspiration is the beautiful material we work with, then in nature and observing life and changing seasons. When time allows, I love to travel.
You can watch one of the #NoOneHasToBeadAlone videos where we were beading together the Tuschinskaja pendant, which beautifully shows PRECIOSA pearls!
Beadingschool by Erika Sándor is not only a webshop. It’s a lot more than that. It provides you with ideas, a welcoming community, and friendliness.
You can join us anytime!
