Beads from the Crystal Valley

🚗 The Beadingschool Treasury is only a few hours drive from the Crystal Valley.
Not only that it mean that the beads don’t travel extra miles unnecessarily, but also that from time to time we can visit and select the prettiest ones for you in person, and meet our beloved partners in the bead making manufactories.

 

We treasure these relationships ❤️ It feels like a big extended family when visiting. Lots of coffee during the day, as it’s always very intense when we are there, and sometimes a nice cold glass of the famous Czech beer or wine together in the evening. We talk about beads, we talk about life, we talk about history and traditions.

It feels like peaking into a magical world where love for colours, conscientious work, attention for details, and hundreds of years of skills are accumulated.
This time, our Andrea had a special treat from our partners: she could visit not only the offices and warehouses, but could see how the beads are made. These tools are used in the factory to count beads. Every shape, every size has a dedicated ‘spoon’ that makes it easy to count a specific amount. You can even see some writing on them – 120 from the small beads, 15 from the big ones!
Andrea made more pictures that you can see if you scroll down, but as she tells me, her car got a lot heavier during that journey, too! 🙂 But first, let’s see what did she bring back in the truck of her car!

This time, we were (Andrea called me and showed me around through her phone) focusing on selecting beads that fit the tutorials created with our Tulip Mania Beadingschool Academy Theme on mind. They look, of course, lovely in the original colours, but in case that you’d like to put together your own combination, too, we got you covered! The colours can really make it feel that the jewel is ‘yours’ and it’s also a good practice to bead a design more than one time, when it comes to a technically challenging one.

    Thanky you for this interesting glimpse behind the scenes. It would be worth travelling to the Crystal Valley and see everything and of course treat ourself with the good and solid Czech cuisine and their beers.
