Since January, we have started a new tradition: we dedicate a full week specifically to BEAD EMBROIDERY every second month so we can all learn, experiment, and play more with this technique that offers so many options!
Zuzi beaded her last ‘Bird of Paradise’ themed jewel mostly from the box and shares her experience, ideas and inspiration in following article. She says:
“The Bird of Paradise Theme box contained a handmade glass cabochon and historic filigree that got me inspired. I played for some time with thought of bead embroidered jewel that wouldn’t let me down. And that’s when Erika’s The Traveller comes – comforting, always pretty in the result and variable. Let’s see what happened on my beading journey!”

I’m so happy you’re inspired to create your own jewel! A cuff bracelet sounds wonderful for shape of this main motif. Please, share it with us when you’re finished, we’ll be happy to see it. 🙂 Zuzi

I have never done any bead embroidery but this article has inspired me to start – as recommended – with a traveller pendant. Now all I need to find is the time….!
