Everything about the Beadingschool Boxes!

Today, I’d like to walk you through all the different kinds of boxes that are waiting for you, and answer all the questions that you might have.

A fun fact: the most frequently asked question that we get from our beaders, no matter which box are they talking about, is: omg, how can you pack so many things into those little boxes?

And indeed, even I have trouble putting back everything after I looked through the content of a box. Luckily, the Treasury ladies are often filming videos to show you the magic, you can look them up on the Beadingschool Facebook Page.

Why did I decide to design these boxes?

 

I wanted to bring you value. That means, that I always select the beads and components that I love to work with the most, that inspire me, and that I know that are of the highest quality. With Beadingschool Boxes it’s always of the highest priority that it’s a special experience when you open them, as we like to say we would like to make you feel as if it was Christmas even if you receive a box in July, and also, the boxes always come with tons of ideas, inspirations, and possibilities to use the contents.
We have now over 200 different beading tutorials on the page that you can choose from, and you’re always very welcome to ask questions in the Beadingschool Club when you need help. 

 

What types of Boxes do we have?

We have three types, of which two are now included in the Box Mania.

Beadingschool Academy

 

The boxes that we talk about the most recently are the Beadingschool Academy Theme Boxes, inspired by a specific theme, for example Art Deco at the moment. These are exclusive boxes for our Academy Students, and they are not included in the Box Mania. However, it’s good to know, that we have a few spots waiting for you – usually they don’t last long, so don’t hesitate to sign up if you were considering becoming a Stundent.

Curated boxes

 

Curated boxes are a selection of different components, beads, cabochons, or sometimes even all of them together. These are carefully selected either by me or sometimes a guest designer that we invite to bring a new source of inspiration and a fresh breeze of stitches and techniques to you.

 

It all started with the famous Preciosa Crystal & Pearl Boxes. I have worked with Preciosa for about half a decade. When a year and a half ago big changes were happening in the beading world, and lots of beaders got scared about the future of beading, I knew that we have an answer. The Preciosa Crystal & Pearl Boxes were designed with the goal to give you a nice overview of the different shapes, colors, and finishes that Preciosa has on offer and that are interesting for us beaders. 

The boxes bring you a wide array of crystal beads in different shaped and sizes, cabochons (including chatons, rivolis, and fancy stones).

They come in 6 different colour combinations. The shapes and the sizes are always the same with some minor variations, but the colors might vary. It means, that if you’ve had one of the first Preciosa Boxes, it might have had different colors then the new ones that we just added yesterday to the eshop.

There are 5 regular size boxes (Fire, Ocean, Forest, Romantic, and Elegant, which bring you a value of 77 euro / box. It means about 300 pieces! Since the beginning of this year they cost 55 euros.

We also have a Rainbow-themes Maxi Box, that’s slightly more expensive, but it brings you 400 pieces of crystals and pearls, in all the colours of the rainbow. 

All boxes come with two bonuses: you receive the cute Tulip Tower tutorial, and a printed overview and ideas to use the contents of your box. 

We also have themed curated boxes: one for the warmer half of the year called Summer Spirit, and the other for the colder months called Sparkly Snowflake. Summer Spirit was inspired by leisure, warm afternoons spent with friends, while sipping a chilled rose and enjoying the blue sky, and it’s full of different components and beads in that vibe/

Sparkly Snowflake comes in white, beige, golden, bronze, and silver tones – those are the colors I remember from winters of my childhood – lots of snow, and the Christmas decorations, of course. You even receive the Sparkly Snowflake tutorial, that you can bead from contents of the Box.

Gina’s “Moonlit Terrace” Box

 

Besides the Preciosa and the theme boxes we also have a special designer box: our friend Gina of Orchid and Opal Jewelry & Beads curated a box inspired by the theme ‘Moonlit Terrace’. It comes with lots of blue, purple, and silver beads and cabochons, and Gina recorded 6 different tutorials to help you make the most of it.

“Dangerous Fuchsia” Boxes

 

The last type of Beadingschool Boxes are the ones that we like to call ‘dangerous fuchsia’ boxes. You can instantly recognize them because of their bright color. While the curated and the theme boxes contain different kinds of beads, cabochons, and components, the ‘special deal’ boxes focus on one type, and bring you a wide range of the same in many different colors. The material that goes inside is always something that I personally love to work with, so there are plenty of tutorials, sometimes taught during our #NoOneHasToBeadAlone classes, sometimes on the Beadingschool Blog, and sometimes available in our bead shop.

 

And most importantly, you receive a lot more in the box for the same amount of money, as if you’d choose them one by one in the bead shop. The difference is significant.

If you order a box, then you know in advance what kind of material you receive (for example, 4 mm Preciosa sew-on rhinestones, or a collection of our historic filigrees), but usually the assortment of colors you get is a surprise. With popular beads, like the Preciosa bicone beads or Nacre cabochons you can choose between a set of cold tones (in the Romeo Box for pearls, Moon Box for bicones), or warm shades (Juliet for pearls, and Sun for he Preciosa bicones).

 

These are the ‘special deal’ or ‘dangerous fuchsia’ boxes that we have currently in webshop. My personal favorite is the Historic filigree collection.

    I’ve just subscribed to your academy and I’ve read about your boxes. It’s difficult to decide which one to choose to begin with. Could you advise me to get a couple. I’m not a beginner and I’m delighted to find you in Europe.

      We’re very happy you joined us! 🙂 If you’re an experienced beader and have some stash already, my suggestion would be to try some of the special deal boxes – they often come also with a gift tutorial. In case you would like to extend your stash and try Preciosa selection of beads and crystals, I’d suggest choosing also your favorite color theme from the curated collections – check the bead shapes in the box and you can also find a tutorial where you can use it.
