Happy autumn earrings tutorial

Today I bring you some more HAPPY AUTUMN colors with a pair of earrings!

The have many intricate details, but since most of the beads are of a bigger size, only with a few seed bead additions, they can be ready in no time. The focal part of the earring is a hexagon with bugle beads on the edge, and I made it longer by adding a motif matching the Happy Autumn bracelet. I used two different colors of rice beads, but you can go for one, too, if you prefer a more unified look.

A good advice for autumn and winter days: make sure to use earring stoppers so you don’t loose your newest creation when removing your scarf 🙂

BIC3 – 3 mm Preciosa bicone beads

RS4 – 4 mm / ss16 Preciosa sew-on rhinestones

OLI4x6A and  OLI4x6B – 4×6 mm olive-shaped glass beads “rice”

FP3A and FP3B – 3 mm fire-polished beads

FP4 – 4 mm fire-polished beads

R15A, R15B and R15C – 15/0 round Miyuki seed beads

R11 – 11/0 round Miyuki seed beads

C11 – 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads

BUG – 6 mm Miyuki Slender Bugle beads

earring findings (I chose a triangle shaped clasp, as it mimics the shape of part of the motif)

0.12 mm Fireline

thin beading needle (I use 11/0 Tulip)

Pick up (4) OLI4x6A.

Bead through all of them to join them into a circle.

Bead through the first bead for a third time.

Add C11 beads between the OLI4x6A beads.

Continue until you are exiting the second new C11.

Pick up R15A + R11 + RS + R11 + R15A.

Bead through the C11 opposite of the one you are exiting.

Bead back through the new beads.

Bead through the C11 you were exiting at the beginning, and continue through OLI4x6A + C11.

Pick up R15A + R11.

Bead through the open hole of RS4.

Pick up R11 + R15A.

Bead through the C11 opposite of the one that you were exiting at the beginning of this step.

Bead back through R15A + R11 + RS4 + R11 + R15A.

Bead through the C11 that you were exiting at the beginning of this step.

Pick up BUG + R15A + BUG.

Bead through the next C11.

Repeat three more times.

Finish by beading through C11 + OLI4x6A + C11 + BUG + R15A.

Pick up BUG + FP4 + BUG.

Bead through the next R15A between two BUG.

Repeat all around.

Finish by beading through the whole first group of new beads + C11 + BUG + FP4.

Pick up R15B + FP3 + R15A.

Bead through the nearest C11 nesting between BUG and OLI4x6A beads.

Bead back through R15A.

Pick up FP3A + R15B.

Bead through the FP4 you were exiting at the beginning.

Continue through BUG + R15A + BUG + FP4.

Repeat step 7 all around the motif.

Finish by beading through FP4 + BUG + R15A + BUG + C11.

Be careful not to break the C11 as it’s filling up with thread.

Pick up (3) R15C + R11 + FP3B.

Bead through the nearest R15A nesting between (4) BUG, in the opposite direction.

Bead back through FP3B + R11.

Pick up (3) R15C.

Bead through the next C11.

Repeat step 9 all around the motif.

Finish by beading through BUG + R15A + BUG + FP4.

Go back to the matching bracelet tutorial, and repeat steps 3-4-5-6.

Repeat step 7, but only at the upper part of the motif, adding 2 groups of (2) R15B.

Bead to R11 at the very top, and add a loop for the earring finding.

Secure and trim all thread ends, and bead another earring for a full pair.
