We have a new box landing on our beadmats, the ‘Fly me to the Moon.‘  Let’s bead together the newest collection of Beadingschool Academy jewels!

You can bead these jewels from the July/August Theme Box of the Beadingschool Academy. As a Beadingschool Academy Student, you receive one or two signature jewel tutorials depending on your membership. Every Thursday, we bring you a #NoOneHasToBeadAlone workshop where you can use the same material. You can download these tutorials as gifts from Beadingschool for a limited time – 3 days after a workshop.

Additional tutorials will be available in the Bead Shop, and there might be more in beading magazines, and made by our friends – designers.

If you are a Beadingschool Academy Student, I highly recommend putting together ‘mini kits’ for the jewels you’d like to make!

This way, you can make sure that you can finish everything that you’d like to. There are many possibilities to use the precious content of the Box, as not only the Beadingschool Creative Team but fellow designers are also designing jewels for you, and sometimes you’ll need to make decisions about how you’d like to use a component or add something from your stash if you’d like to bead them all.

CIRCINO BY ERIKA

Circino means ‘circle’ in Latin. In the ‘Fly me to the Moon’ collection it refers both to the shape of a compass, with the different cabochons pointing towards North, South, etc., and to circumnavigate the world. How brave the explorers and sailors were when they first did that, right? They trusted their skills and the stars, and had that adventurous spirit in them that’s so much needed for such big leaps.

Thanks to the tutorial and the support of the Beadingschool Designer Team you will feel safe all the time when beading this sparkly jewel.
This will be the second signature jewel of the ‘Fly me to the Moon Collection!’ It means it is part of Fuchsia membership.
The size of the motif is: 4×4 cm / 1.57×1.57 inch.

When stars die in supernova explosions, they scatter elements across space, eventually forming new stars, planets, and life. It’s an ongoing cycle of creation and transformation that never ends. The STARBORN design is very special as we created it together during the Live Design #CoffeeTimeWithErika and we’re going to bead it together as our next #NoOneHasToBeadAlone!

FULL MOON BY ERIKA 

Over the past years, I shared plenty of personal moments from the journey regarding my mental health.
From the time when  I was barely able to move and had to walk with a crutch, as the chemical imbalance in my body caused by depression heavily affected my joints. I struggled to lift the cup of tea in the evening from the table right next to me, wrapped in a warm blanket, but feeling lonely, cold, and broken beyond repair.
After lots of learning, hard decisions, and daring to leave unhealthy relationships and restrictions behind, I am finally living my life fully, with connections that I treasure, following my own rules, and embracing all the emotions I experience. Even the sour ones feel strangely good after all the ‘tasteless’ decades…
The turning point on my journey was finally believing that all is possible. I can stand up and walk out of the place I don’t like anymore, and I can set my own direction—and try to fly even to the Moon if that feels good.
Maybe I will fail, and, for sure, there will be obstacles. Maybe I will change my mind in the meantime, or learn that I need to prepare better before I can continue. And maybe, maybe I actually reach the Moon and will have the best time of my life there.
Do you have a dream that you want to pursue, no matter that the opinion of your surroundings differ? The Full Moon pendant stands for all those possibilities – and for my invitation to live your life fully.

NEBULA EARRINGS BY VERONIKA

“Nebula – an enormous cloud of luminescent dust, acting as a nursery for new stars.”
Looking at a subtle yet deep shine of bicones, with a tiny star on the bottom, that was just born, I couldn’t think of a more suitable name!
Also, did you know? Nebulas are also known as a symbol of creativity, imagination, and self-expression!
With this variable design, you can make almost anything, from earrings to bracelet, or even a shiny pendant rope. That way it could serve as a true nebula – star nursery – for a focal piece hanging on it!

STAR CLUSTER NECKLACE BY VERONIKA

A large group of stars, held together by …gravity? Nope, it’s the crystal connectors! Because who needs gravity when you are so attracted to shiny sparkly gorgeousness?
Also, have you ever tried to close a bezel with vexolos? If not, now is the time :-).
This motif doesn’t have to be a necklace though, try to experiment with brooches or earrings. Or maybe an ultrasuede bracelet?? Those are my favorites, but I don’t have the patience for them, so I always try to encourage others to see the gorgeous results! 😀

Once, during every Beadingschool Academy Theme, we bead a retro #NoOneHasToBeadAlone design. It feels nice to compare what we liked back then and use new colors or material available in the box for the design.

OPTIMUS BY NITTI

When I showed my jewel to the Beadingschool Unicorns I said: Optimus Prime is reporting for duty. I found it funny at the time. But Zuzi surprised and convinced me to leave the idea behind of naming my jewels of this theme after great astronomers.

She said: Opti derives from the Greek word ‘opti’ that means light or sight. If you look deep in the middle of the pendant that is exactly what you see: light! The amazing texture that the rippled rectangle cabochon gives reminds me of light rays.

But why did I joke around with Optimus Prime? Because this pendant is a transformer. With some small modifications this pendant can look completely different! Instead of this rectangular magic mirror that reflects the universe in the inside, you can turn this motif into a more decorated rounder pendant.

If you like flashier, bigger pieces, it can also be worn as earrings.

The size of the motif is: 33 x 25 mm / 1.25 x 1 inches.

GALILEI BY NITTI

The Vexolo beads in this small motif represent light travelling towards the middle of the motif. They are all pointing towards an empty space. This empty space can be interpreted as the unknown that is still waiting for discovery.

Just as the broad night sky, this little motif can also take you to an exciting journey. It can be expanded both towards the edges or just placing something pretty and shiny in the middle of it.

Size of the motif: 3 cm / 11/8 inches

COPERNICUS BY NITTI

When Erika presented the new box and I saw the Long Drop Glass, I knew it immediately that I want to make something special out of it. I listened to my calling and came up with an idea. This idea slightly changed by I got to the execution, but the aim remained: I want to use this substantial drop as an integral and focal point of my piece.

And the ideas kept coming even after the pendant was finished. It still has so much potential! You can create a full circle from the arc and have a small drop hanging in the inside of it or you can create a pair of stud earrings from the small Chaton Rose bezel.

Copernicus is a double-sided motif, so you can create two different colorways and wear it as one piece. The only thing that you have to keep in mind: the drop needs to fit both colorways.

If your RAW/CRAW/PRAW knowledge is a little bit rusti, you want to grab the e-book Erika wrote in the topic: From RAW to CRAW and PRAW e-book. The arc is made with CRAW technic that uses 2-hole beads as base. It is an interesting way of doing CRAW that can expand the horizon even more.

HYPATIA BY NITTI

Hypatia was one of the most brilliant scientists of her time. Through her we got to understand our world a little better. Just as she was one of a kind, this motif is unique the way, how shaped beads close a cushion cut cabochon in a hug.

The building element of the Vexolo beads can offer a new way you thought about constructing bezels, smaller or bigger beaded elements.

You can use two colors of the Vexolo beads based on their orientation to give the motif an interesting twist or rotate and combine them into a bracelet.

Size of the motif: 38 mm / 1.5 inches.

ARIA BY ZUZI

Aria, light like an air, beautiful and sparkly like heavens full of stars. It calls us to breathe deeply, dream freely, and embrace the possibilities!  Zuzi loves the 7mm Preciosa Chaton Rose and added extra sparkle combining both sizes of the Preciosa bicone beads from the Academy box. The small hints of gold makes us feel like watching the skies, breathing in refreshing air at summer night. This motif is fairly quick to make – are you going to bead earrings, bracelet or ring? Or all of the mentioned?

CELESTE BY ZUZI

Celeste, from the word “celestial,” evokes the beauty and mystery of the heavens above us. It makes us wonder about the night sky, filled with stars, planets, and endless space. Celeste inspires us to dream beyond the ordinary and reach for the stars.
When looking at this jewel you feel like looking outside from a window, seeing starry night skies.
Use the Gekko beads to decorate the bezel of the 18 mm extra low cut cabochon, expanding it to a pendant. A standalone piece, statement necklace or earrings? All is possible with Celeste.

PEGASUS BY ZUZI

The night sky, with its shimmering stars and deep mysteries, becomes even more captivating with the Pegasus constellation, named after the mythical winged horse Pegasus from Greek mythology. The “body” of Pegasus forms the Great Square, and is easy to locate in the night sky. The four stars creates nearly perfect square and are a useful reference point for finding other stars and constellations. Close to this constellation lies the Andromeda galaxy, that is visible to the naked eye under clear, dark skies.
Zuzi says: While designing of this jewel I got back to the original movie of Wrath of Titans,. Girls nowadays have unicorns, and I dreamed about having Pegasus when I was kid. And with this jewel – it came true!
You’ll learn a new way to bezel the 12 mm cushion cut cabochon what makes a great start for a bracelet when you connect more motifs together. Matching earrings are also an option, while a pendant completes your set!

SIRIUS BY VICKY ROBERTS

Sirius is a multi-layered, super sparkly pendant whose name derives from the brightest star in the sky, which is also blue.
When making the pendant, you will learn how to bezel multiple navette stones in Peyote. Once the navettes are bezelled, the rest of the piece is built up around them, including the central stone. Once all stones are in place, we will then go on to add multiple-size crystals and beads to each side, resulting in a slightly curved, but really stable piece

COMET EARRINGS BY RUXANDRA PUSCAS
Comets are like wandering storytellers, carrying secrets from ancient times as they travel across the night sky. Each one holds clues about the early days of our solar system, preserving information about cosmic events from long ago. As they move through the darkness, they offer a fascinating glimpse into the past of the universe.
Ruxi, inspired by ‘Fly me to the Moon’ Academy box, created these earrings, our next jewel for the theme, using the tiny star pendant, True2 and 3 mm round beads. We’re going to publish the tutorial as OFFLINE #NoOneHasToBeadAlone.

Ruxi’s Moon rays gently cascade through the night, painting the world in silver whispers, a silent reminder that even in darkness, there is light.
I love how Ruxi used the historic filigrees. Her smart solution allows you to use any kind of filigrees after you adjust the bead count. Her earrings can lead you to a beaded necklace or a bracelet, too!

    I can’t choose a favourite, these new jewels are all outstanding and absolutely beautiful in breathtaking colours. I am so happy to be part of the bead adventure in the Beadingschool academy. It is so nice to get a box or sometimes two 😉 bursting with beading material and converting them into a box of beautiful and matching jewellery. At the end of the academy theme I have new and unique jewellery in a new colourway. Thank you Beadingschool for your work and enthusiasm to keep this adventure going.

    Hi, ladies! Aren’t these lovely jewels? I arrived at the Coffee Time with Erika late, so I didn’t have a chance to ask if we can make Circino as our “signature” jewel. Erika, what a lovely design! Besides Circino, I’ve chosen Nebula (a single motif for earrings and several motifs linked together for a bracelet), Galelei , Hypatia, and Pegasus. There’s a possibility that I’ll be beading designs from this collection next July-August as I am fond of the Star Cluster motif, Celeste and Sirius, too!

    Circono from Erika is my absolute favorite. I adore all original colors.
