Jewels from ‘Lakeside Poetry’ box

If you are a Beadingschool Academy Student, I highly recommend putting together ‘mini kits’ for the jewels you’d like to make, according to our recent Blog article!

This way, you can make sure that you can finish everything that you’d like to. There are many possibilities to use the precious content of the Box, as not only the Beadingschool Creative Team but fellow designers are also designing jewels for you, and sometimes you’ll need to make decisions about how you’d like to use a component or add something from your stash if you’d like to bead them all.

And sometimes, through the mirror of poetry, that feels as if the author would have been able to find words for your innermost existence in a way that eluded you. You feel at ease, when you know that your feelings and thoughts are important and beautiful. SILENT WATERS BY ZUZI

Zuzi says: ‘Like a quiet lake at dawn, this jewel captures a moment of stillness where water gently reflects the sky and nature speaks in soft, almost unheard whispers. NESTLING BY ANIKO

Aniko says: ‘The Nestling earrings were inspired by the peaceful moments in nature. The quiet tenderness of a bird’s home, the warmth of a shelter, and the gentle rhythm of life beside the lake.

Tiny beads form the nest, carefully surrounding the little eggs, while a golden bird sits safely above them. Crystal drops below catches the light like a ray of sun dancing on the surface of the water.

A small story of care, hope, and the quiet beauty of the lakeside.

Laura says: ‘Astbury Mere is not in the Lake District but it’s a lake fairly close to where I live. I love to go for morning walks here, and when the sun is out, the water is many different colours, with turquoise and pale greens.

Beaders will learn to create a strong peyote bezel and embellish this in layers to create a sturdy large motif.’

ONDINE BY RUXANDRA

Ruxi says: ‘The Ondine Pendant draws its inspiration from the delicate, ever‑changing movement of tiny waves rippling across a quiet lake. Built from an elegant arrangement of navette crystals, the design aims to capture both the fluidity and the shimmer of water in motion. To enhance this imagery, a Waterfall crystal chain has been added to the lower part of the piece, suggesting a ray of sunlight reflecting on the surface. Although small in size, Ondine showcases interesting technical solutions that ensure the precise alignment of each navette, lending the pendant a cohesive flow and a sturdy structure. It can also be used as a brooch or hair ornament, without any additional support. Beading it is an enriching learning experience in balance, engineering, and the expressive potential of beadwork.’

THE INNER LAKE BY GIULIANA

The water is still. Green in its depths, turquoise where the light touches it. The lake is silent, stretched out like a thought that asks no words. A pale aquamarine flower rests upon it, it does not fall, it does not tremble but is reflected, gentle, in the perfect quiet of water and mind. No wind. Only light breathing upon the surface. And the lake is no longer just a landscape, but a slow expansion of the Soul reaching as far as the eye can see. The verse did not create the image; it only awakened it. A calm lake, a suspended flower, light resting upon the soul — it already existed within me.

WAHAT AL-MARAYA (OASIS OF THE MIRRORS) BY GIULIANA

Giuliana says: “This is my legend.
It does not come from the books of the ancients, nor from the tales of merchants crossing the desert.
It has not been whispered in caravans or in the palaces of distant cities.
It was born in my imagination, and it is the secret place where my Soul resides.
They say that, beyond the golden dunes and the mountains sculpted by the wind, there exists a hidden oasis that no map can show.
A silent garden where a pure spring gushes forth.
The water rises clear as crystal and luminous as the first light of dawn.
It flows silently over polished stones, forming delicate waterfalls like veils, and gathers in many transparent lakes.

Some shine with the pale blue of the morning sky.
Others glow in deep turquoise.
Still others reflect the green of the palms and the gardens that grow along the shores.
Each lake is a mirror.
When the surface of the water is still, the mirrors reflect the sky, the light, and the dreams of those who approach.
By day, the water seems made of liquid gems.
By night, each mirror holds a star.
It is not merely an oasis in the desert.
It is a refuge of the Spirit.
