Mashrabiya earrings tutorial

Zuzi decided this set would be a treasure where every delicate detail holds the promise of hidden beauty, waiting to be discovered – just like the traditional Mashrabiya windows. MATERIAL LIST for one earring motif (double the amount for a pair):

REC –  4×9 mm Miyuki Rectangle Beads (4 pcs)

FP3 – 3 mm Fire-Polished beads (4 pcs)

P4 –  2 mm Round Glass Beads (4 pcs)

P2 –  4 mm Round Glass beads (2 pcs)

GCON –  4×15 mm Stone Connector (2 pcs)

R11 –  11/0 Miyuki seed beads

R15 – 15/0 Miyuki round seed beads

Pick up REC + R11 + FP3 + GCON + P4 + GCON + FP3 + R11 + REC + R11 + FP3.

Bead to the open hole of the second GCON you picked up.

Pick up P4 and bead to the open how of the first

GCON you picked up. Pick up FP3 + R11 and bead to REC.

Repeat the thread path all around, skipping R11 beads.

Exit from REC.

*Pick up REC and bead to the REC added in Step 1. Pass through R11 + FP3.

Pick up (7) R15 and bead to P4 in the opposite direction.

Pass through the 2nd and 3rd R15. Skip the middle R15 and pass through (3) R15 + FP3 + R11 + REC.

Repeat from * one more time to fill the beads on the opposite side of the motif.

Pass through R11 + FP3 + (7) R15 + FP3 + R11.

*Pick up P2 and bead to REC added in Step 3.

Pick up P2 and bead to R11 + FP3 + (7) R15 + FP3 + R11.

Repeat from * one more time.

You can repeat the threadpath all around the motif if you need to add more tension.
