Hi, my name is Erika Sándor.
I am a jewelry designer, a writer and a teacher. A passionate traveler and adventurer.
A gipsy spirit: longing to see all the close and distant corners of the world and transform the impressions into beaded and written memories.
At the age of 29 I sold my successful bead-shop, the first (and best 🙂 in Slovakia.
I returned to my roots – art, creativity and traveling. A hobby to fill my evenings while preparing for my masters exams from literature, linguistics and the philosophy of art, and a three week long adventure in India managed to change my world view forever. I strongly believe, that by deciding to pursue my dreams and turning my life upside down the best part of it is just beginning.
And through this page we can share this exciting journey!
I write easy-to-follow, professional tutorials to show you the secrets of jewelry-making, so you can try it, too!
It doesn’t matter, if you are an aspiring or a technically already skilled jeweler: I offer projects both for beginners and advanced beaders, too.
Here you can check out some of the magazines and newspapers which featured an interview with me or presented my tutorials. (And if you are an editor, I would be more than happy to work with you!)
If you are a bead-shop owner or manager looking for fresh blood and interesting projects, do not hesitate to contact me! I have 6-years long experience working with customers in my own bead-paradise. I enjoyed that time very much and I am looking forward to teach also outside the virtual world.
Every piece has a different story, but all of them have the same message: enjoy being yourself!
And of course: have fun creating!
I make one-of-a-kind, high quality art jewelry – every one of them with a special story.
All the necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings and headpieces are inspired by foreign cultures, different places, persons, feelings and much more.
You will also find here stories about successful women (and sometimes men) all around the globe hoping to inspire and motivate you.
There are adventures which helped me. Books which helped me. Stories which helped me.
And I would like to share all of them with you.
So here I am, Erika Sándor – The Storytelling Jeweller.
Today I live as a freelance designer and writer. I offer handmade, unique jewelry, clothes and handbags made only from material of the highest quality. Every piece is one-of-a-kind, so there is literally no chance you will meet the same one on every corner.
I am looking forward to get to know you better, to design you something special or to teach you a new skill or two.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me, if you have a question, want to work together or just feel the urge to drop me a line.
It will always be welcome.
So far, have an awesome day!
And I know I already said this, but please remember:
enjoy being yourself and have fun creating!
With love,
Erika
Creative approach
1
MAKE A MESS
There’s no fun without bending rusty, good old conventions and a bit of chaos, and there’s no creativity neither. In my case it comes with three messy bead mats, half a dozen notebooks for sketches and a handful of pink, red and turquoise pens to fill the pages.
2
PLAY
Developing a flash into something legit and reasonable requires questions, experiments and mistakes. The fear of feeding the “UFO-box” containing UnFinished Objects can nurture and kill ideas, too. Playfulness eliminates the worry about it.
3
PUSH UNTIL PERFECT
Looking for the perfect place for every tiny bead and redrawing the tutorials until they are the easiest to understand.
In the meanwhile I am very grateful for every question and suggestion, and try to learn something new every day.
