Abundance.

Abundance was the world we started the year 2025 with. Beautiful, colorful abundance bags were flying to your bead mats all around the world, and I designed a jewel with the same name, too. But what I had on my mind when choosing the name, was something completely different, than an earring and cabochons. In my personal life, I craved to leave scarcity behind, and I chose the path that can lead towards abundance of love, creativity, honesty, and kindness.

However, these values are not so easy to grip as those colorful Abundance bags were. You need to hold them within, however, you’ll never be able to touch them. What a contradiction! Sometimes, there isn’t enough time, no steady ground to stand still, or it’s too dark to decipher where the pin of your internal compass is marking north and south points. Or simply, the journey feels long, we get tired, and even lonely sometimes.

But despite the challenges of our everyday worries, kindness, positivity, and creativity provide a powerful compass within: a warm, steady feeling within your heart marking that you are staying true to your values. Despite setbacks, despite standing still, despite detours and stumbling. It won’t be the strongest emotion you feel, but it is the one that brings peace and calm within.

And that’s why we need to also remember patience and perseverance besides the ones I mentioned earlier. And we, beaders, are so lucky to exercise patience and perseverance day by day, jewel by jewel!

We create a new, beautiful jewel one bead at a time – just as we live our lives one day at a time, one step after another. Even for a simple Peyote bezel for a tiny 8 mm cabochon, we pick up and attach 154 beads. For a 27 mm round one, nearly 500 beads.

And in the meantime, sometimes our thread snaps, or the needle bends too much so we need to find a new one. We might be clumsy and drop the crystal, resulting in broken beads – having to patch the scar. Or, we might even find, that the colors, in the end, don’t match as we imagined – and we need to start completely anew.

And how much more complicated, but also more beautiful it is to build our lives, and choose the colors we want to surround ourselves with! Lovely beaders, thank you for an amazing year together. It was challenging and rewarding beyond every imagination. Let’s learn together patience and perseverance while creating our earrings, necklaces, bracelets. Let’s continue to cheer for each other. Let’s continue to share our stories, ask our questions, and be there when a helping hand or an ear to listen is needed.
