Spread the LOVE – with beads!

There’s a lot more LOVE in the world than hatred, and a lot more generosity than jelousy.  ❤ International Beading Week, organized by the Beadworker’s Guild is the proof of that.

This year, the theme is ‘SPREAD THE LOVE’ that is very much in alignment with the values of Beadingschool and I am happy to be one of the ambassadors again. ENJOY and bead with me the jewel that I designed to celebrate International Beading Week!

HOW DID THE IDEA APPEAR ON MY BEAD MAT?
When the Theme of this year’s International Beading Week was announced, the first thought that came to my mind was to use a heart cabochon in a claw setting and decorate it further with crystals and fire-polished beads. My initial idea was to connect four into a clove-like arrangement.
I have also seen many heart-shaped motifs in the past created with Right Angle Weave or Cubic Right Angle Weave, but I wanted to approach this topic from a different angle.
At the end, even if I had some of the heart cabochons in my stash already, I ended up creating something else. Together with Adam we went for a little vacation, staying in a tiny house close to a natural reserve. And while beading on the porch, the beads on my mat decided to go another way.
Blooming Heart is the result of those peaceful days.
I made several pairs of earrings from my heart-shaped motifs, but you can also finish it as a pendant, of course. Make sure to look into these videos about finishing beaded motifs as pendants and necklaces here and here.
