Springtime in the Treasury

Spring is my favourite season. It brings back my energy and wakes me up with the warmth of the sunshine and the gentleness of the breeze. I love spending time outside these months, when I can already enjoy my coffee outside, however, and start beading on the balcony again.

 

I am not a great gardener myself, but I love the flowers that March, April, and May bring us. I buy fresh tulips, daffodils, or hyacinths every week when I go to the market, and their colours and shapes often influence me in my beadwork too.

One of my favourite springtime designs is the Bloom motif. The original is a pair of earrings that you can see if you click the link, and later I also combined it with bead embroidery into this cuff bracelet. I still love wearing the bracelet when finally I can go for a walk wearing short sleeves. Unfortunately I lost half of the earrings years ago in the city – probably pulling it out with my scarf.

As I can see in the Beadingschool Club, the Community is also very much influenced by the warmer weather. Flower tones, more vibrant colour combination, floral motifs are emerging on numerous of your bead mats!

I love Kata’s ‘Spring in Rome‘ earrings with the fiery energy that is radiating from Katalin’s signature colour combination: her daring combinations of orange, red, and yellow prove it every time that it’s worth to push the limits – there is a reward waiting for us after being brave and experiment 🙂

During our ‘La Dolce Vita’ Theme at the Beadingschool Academy I named my jewels after flowers characteristic for Italy: Sassifraga being my favourite!

Many of you were asking for the 6×8 mm rectangle cabochons and the 14 mm Lotus Square cabochons that you need for beading this jewel. Finally we have them available again, together with some new Star Crystal Connectors that mach the sparkly gift of the week perfectly, and the Spike drop pendants that you love adding to your prickly cactus inspired designs during the current Le Jardin Majorelle Theme.
