Titalee earrings beading tutorial with PaisleyDuo and Rosetta cabochons

Do you know that feeling, when by working and thinking together with your group of friends, family, or colleagues you create something special? A useful solution for a tricky situation, a super nice plan for a vacation, or simply find the best possible couch for your living room. The result will always feel unique as it will remind you of the fun you’ve had and how you achieved something by asking questions, listening to each other carefully, and respecting each other’s opinion. A few weeks ago during a #CoffeeTimeWithErika we did exactly that: I selected some new beads that just landed on my beading mat, and together with fellow beaders from the Beadingschool Club we created this new pair of earrings inspired by India.

Titalee’ means butterfly in Hindi. Let’s create this beady butterfly from PaisleyDuos and Rosette cabochons!

R15 and R15B – 15/0 Miyuki round seed beads

R11 – 11/0 Miyuki round seed beads

PAIS – PaisleyDuo

NAV – 4×15 mm slim navette cabochon in metal claw

ROS – 6 mm 2-hole Rosette cabochon

QT – Miyuki Quarter Tila

RS4 – 4 mm / ss16 Preciosa sew-on rhinestone

BIC3 – 3 mm Preciosa bicone bead

DROP – drop, pendant, charm, etc. to decorate the bottom. I used this connector, and I’ll attach something more to the bottom when I finally make up my mind which pretty drop to choose 😀

11/0 Tulip beading needle

0.12 mm / 4 LB Fireline

Pick up ROS + PAIS + R11 + PAIS + ROS + PAIS + R11 + PAIS.

Bead through all of them one more time, starting with the first bead, from the same direction as before.

Bead through the first ROS + PAIS + R11.

Pick up (3) R15A and bead through the second hole of the PAIS.

Pick up QT and bead through the second hole of the ROS.

Continue adding QT between ROS and PAIS and adding (3) R15A between PAIS and R11.

Finish by beading through the first group of (3) R15A.

Pick up (7) R15A and bead through the second hole of the PAIS in the opposite direction.

Bead through the (7) R15A once again and then bead through the open hole of the QT.

Pick up R15A + NAV + (8) R15A and bead through the open hole of the NAV.

Pick up R15A and bead through the open hole of the next QT.

Pick up (7) R15A and bead through the PAIS in the opposite direction + (7) R15A + (3) 15A from the previous step + R11 + (3) R15A.

Repeat from the beginning.

Bead through (7) R15A + QT + R15A + (4) R15A.

Pick up R15A.

Bead through (4) R15A + NAV + R15A + QT + (10) R15A.

Pick up (5) R15B + RS4 + (5) R15B.

Bead through (10) R15A + QT + R15A + NAV + (5) R15A.

Pick up (3) R15A + earring finding + (3) R15A.

Bead through the R15A that you were exiting from.

Repeat the thread path.

Bead through (4) R15A + NAV + R15A + QT + (20)

R15A + QT + R15A + NAV + (4) R15A.

Pick up R15A.

Bead through (4) R15A + NAV + R15A + QT + (10) R15A.

Pick up (5) R15B. Bead through the same hole of RS4 that you’ve used before.

Pick up (5) R15B and bead through (10) R15A + QT + R15A + NAV + (5) R15A.

Connect a glass drop – adjust the exact number of R15A and the way you attach it depending on the orientation of the loop.

Bead through the (4) R15A + NAV + R15A + QT + (9) R15A.

Pick up BIC3.

Skip (2) R15A.

Bead through (9) R15A + QT + R15 + NAV + (9) R15A + NAV + R15A + QT + (9) R15A.

Pick up BIC3.

Skip (2) R15A.

Continue through (9) R15A.

Secure and trim all thread ends.

Bead another earring to complete the pair.
