Walk with me – on a Flower Field!

Do you get overwhelmed sometimes – by everything what’s going on around you, including good and bad?

We live such intense lives these days! In work, at home, and truth to be told, sometimes even our hobbies can overwhelm us, and all the options that are waiting for us out there. When the sounds and all the energy of the vibrant environment of the city starts to hurt my senses instead of inspiring, I know that it’s time to take a step back. To switch off the computer, to take a cup of coffee to the balcony, to check on each and every leaf and flower that has developed since the day before.

Today, I’d like to invite you for a calming ‘Flower Field’ exploration on your bead mat!

A little while ago the Beadingschool Treasury Team prepared a gift for our lovely beaders who placed an order in the Bead Shop during the designated time. Among else, it also included a pair of Forget-me-not cabochons in the 14×14 mm size. A lovely shape, but until now, we didn’t have tutorials that would show exactly how to use it. Right after Beadingschool Beaders started to ask for some guidance, an idea was born.

The result – a cute flower sitting on a Miyuki Slender Bugle square, blinged up with my beloved 4 mm Preciosa sew-on rhinestone is a 5 minute work, yet with such a nice result!

When you visit nature, it’s not only plants that you see!

The two Bermuda Blue flowers with the Chrysolite Opal center attracted golden-coloured dragonflies that can’t wait to taste the nectar. The perforated double wings give volume, in harmony with the dimensions of the beaded motif itself. I chose a pair of earwires decorated with a navette-shaped Cubic Zirconia that is mimicing the outside edge of the design.

This cute motif has a really interesting shape and you can use it not only as earrings, but as a pendant or a brooch as well.

MATERIAL LIST for one motif  (double the amount if you want to make a pair of earrings)

OPTIONAL

TOOLS

 

Pick up (4) R11 and (4) BUG interchangeably.

Bead through all of them for the second time to join them into a circle.

Finish by beading through the first R11.

Pick up (4) R15A + R15B + RS4 + R15B + (4) R15A and bead through the opposite R11.

Pass back through all beads that you just added.

Bead again through the first R11 and continue through BUG + R11.

Slip in CAB14.

Pick up (4) R15A + R15B and bead through the second hole of RS4.

Pick up R15B + (4) R15A and bead through the opposite R11.

Bead back through (4) R15A + R15B + RS4 + R15B + (4) R15A.

Finish by beading again through the R11 that you have started from.

Pick up (2) BUG and bead through the next R11.

Repeat all around the motif.

Bead through BUG and pick up R15C.

Bead through BUG + R11.

Repeat all around the motif.

Finish by beading through the first added R15C.

Attach your findings, then secure and trim all thread ends.
