…and how the new Storytelling website helps you to spend more time beading instead of browsing
Tremendous amount of coffee was consumed lately in the Storytelling household, and the website finally got its new design. (Also, thanks to the over-expose to caffeine a new addiction may have formed. Whatever, my morning, mid-day, lunchtime, afternoon and sometimes early-evening espresso with a small splash of cold milk is to die for. All four or five of it, yes, thanks for asking.)
Thanks to the project (and to the fact that in times of despair after a minute or two of swearing I always managed to force myself to return to the administrator area of the page), besides colour codes of Miyuki Delicas my head is sometimes overflowing with .html codes now, too.
But while it actually proved to be fun, the reason to undergo such a big transform was not my never-weakening pleasure to design, but to make your life easier.
Free time is precious, and unfortunately never infinite.
So I decided to help you prolong the time you spend playing with your beads, instead of the hours trying to find the perfect project.
I suppose a lot of us have more than enough beads at home.
Not just for the next couple of projects, but in more serious cases even for a lifetime or two. Does it sometimes happen to you that you grab new beads in your local bead shop just because you feel intrigued by the shape, or that brand new colour with the silky 2xAB Ultra Picasso effect catches your attention and doesn’t let it go any more?
Do you know the feeling when you don’t really have a plan for the new beads, but still you have to have them, no matter what?
And be honest: do they tend to finish in the “one day they will be useful” pile, and does the question “What the heck is Farfalle (or Dome, Honeycomb, Tulip bead etc.)” comes into your mind when you see them again in your beading box?
After clicking on the tutorial section of the Storytelling page you are now able to browse the projects according to the bead shape you would finally like to use in your new jewel. Also, you can check out the complete list of beads, components and tools you need for the project right next to the main picture.
Cool, isn’t it? I hope it will help you in the future to spend more time beading instead of browsing.
Let me know, how is it going and what are you currently working on. I am looking forward.
Hugs, Erika

I so enjoy reading your posts. You have such sense of humor with your writing. It makes me yearn to be able to spend time physically with you. When I am beading one of your tutorials I find myself hearing your voice while I bead. This trip into fantasy makes it so enjoyable to bead your designs.
