Recently I celebrated my birthday. I see a lot of people around me who are getting frustrated when the date is approaching. On the contrary, I am always looking forward, since it’s the perfect time to get together and enjoy each other’s company with my loved ones. This year I spent my birthday with my husband, biking around Amsterdam, dining and talking. And I received many kind messages which made me happy, since I live far away from most of my friends, my sister and my mum.
My family asked me a month ago what kind of gift would make me happy. Unfortunately the one I would like the most (for them to visit me here in Amsterdam, so I can show them my life here) will not come true in this year.
However, even if I prefer time spent together instead of material things there is something which always makes me happy: a good book to read or even better, to learn new beading techniques from! I have my eye on Melanie de Miguel’s Hubble stitch books for example.
Since I would like to celebrate with you, and giving is better then getting,
I decided to organize a contest.
One lucky beader will get a beading book from me as a gift!
Hope you like the idea – you can even tell me which book would you like to receive. You can enter the contest below.
YOU CAN CHOOSE ANY BEAD-RELATED BOOK AVAILABLE ON AMAZON.
The contest is now over, you can find out who won the book here.
If you don’t want to miss your chance to win something valuable next time and to get a bunch of free beading tutorials, sign up to the VIP Jewelry Maker Club here.
Thanks for playing with me.
Have fun beading!
Bye,
Erika

Happy Birthday. I always look forward to mine as well. This year, on my birthday, I woke to a phone call that my brother ( and only surviving immediate family member..we lost both parents and another sibling) had been airlifted to a critical care unit after suffering a grand mal seizure, where they found a tumor on his brain.) So the only birthday wish I had was for him to be ok. The tumor was removed, there were some complications, but he is a fighter with an amazing attitude. As for me….beading keeps me sane.

Marlene, that’s beautiful, I’m sure that’s the most amazing birthday gift you could get! Happy birthday, and enjoy the weekend with your family very much!

What a generous idea! It will be exciting for whoever wins the book 🙂 I hope you get to connect with your family soon as well. Thanks!

Thanks for joining the contest, Barb! It’s so fun to see which books are the most popular 🙂 It seems my mum may come after all, but I have to wait for my sister for at least one more year.
