THE STORY OF THE KIM’S DREAM cabochons ๐โจ
The ‘Bead around the World’ game has become another tradition of the Beadingschool Community. ๐๐ฆ We send and receive postcards from fellow beaders whom we got to know in the Beadingschool Club. ๐๐ญ
This year, I received two beautiful postcards: from Katja, from Frankfurt – Germany ๐ฉ๐ช, and from Kim, from Texas – the USA ๐บ๐ธ. Kim also enclosed a letter and a drawing… โ๏ธ๐จ
I opened it during the time when I had a feeling that, after turning my life upside down, the ‘universe’ decided to test me some more. ๐ช๏ธโ๏ธ The furniture was breaking: the leg of a bathroom cabinet, and the top shelf of a bookcase. ๐ ๏ธ๐ Two blenders said goodbye within one week. ๐ฅค๐ One was my fault, as I was trying to grind nuts with too little water; the other was just worn-out material. ๐ฅ๐ช๏ธ The wind ripped 50 euros out of my bag when I was crossing a bridgeโand I could only watch as it landed in the water below me. ๐ฌ๏ธ๐ถ๐ This was during the time of the biggest financial scarcity after my divorce and my move, when every euro was precious and coffee was a luxury. โ๐ The heater started to splash water around, also into the electric socket. ๐งโก I twisted my ankle and bruised my hands, thighs, and knee badly when I fell during a run. ๐โโ๏ธ๐ค๐ฉน
And then, one afternoon while sipping a cappuccino, I opened Kim’s letter. โ๐ She said: “This symbol is (…) how I see beading through the eyes and the heart of Beadingschool Academy. โค๏ธ๐

Dear Kim… You didn’t have a clue how much your words meant to me back then… ๐ฅน๐ I kept your letter and drawing on my table, and today, it has moved to my Atelier. ๐ ๐จ I treasure and value every message that I (or we) have received from you. ๐ What I feel is beyond words… And when I saw your drawing, I knew that it deserved something a lot more beautiful than my writing; it deserved to be loved and bring inspiration to our wonderful Community… ๐๐คโจ
