Most of the time, I do bead weaving – I join pearls and cabochons using only thread and needle, without fabric to support them. But isn’t it interesting that whenever I wanted to create a really impressive design, I always chose bead embroidery?
I enjoy beadweaving a lot, but my true LOVE is bead embroidery. The main reason is the FREEDOM I get and inspiration flow that leads me. Instead of having to execute perfect engineering work to give my jewels the necessary shape, structure, and stability only with the help of thread and needle in bead embroidery, the use of backing material makes the task a lot easier. I can easily incorporate beautiful historic filigree, shaped objects into my jewelry or even something odd but meaningful like a stone found on the street or a piece of driftwood to remeber favorite place. The rules are not so strict and I enjoy the improvising.
Bead embroidery is a wonderful technique and I love to return to it every time the inspiration comes. We also see bead embroidered pieces in the Beadingschool Club made by our beaders where, besides a beautiful jewel, we share also hints and tips.

Hello headers,
I’ve just finished my bead embroidery that started as a pendant but ended up being a hair buckle. I’m slowly learning and have a question for anyone who can help. How do you keep from over crowding the beads? Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

I’m enjoying bead embroidery more & more. Ready to branch out into larger pieces but how do you do that? Do you attach smaller pieces of Stiff Stuff (or similar) together or start with a large 8.5″x11″ piece? Please help me with the next step in my journey. Thank you so much, Dear Erika. ❣️

Thank you Erika for all your knowledge! I have learned so much and was able to finish my bead embroidered necklace. I started this with a friend who taught me a lot too. Through your The Traveller videos I was able to complete this. I have much to learn and am looking forward to creating more with bead embroidery. I just ordered The Bead Embroidered Starting Kit. Thank you for everyone sharing!
